Synopsis

A vida de Élia Gala Placídia, considerada a última grande mulher do império romano. Nasceu por volta de 392 em Ravena, e faleceu no dia 27 de novembro de 450, em Roma. Sua vida transcorreu nos tumultuados dias de finais do império de Ocidente, filha do imperador Teodósio,foi uma imperatriz-consorte, esposa do imperador Constâncio III entre 417 e 422. Antes disso, ela foi casada com o rei dos visigodos, Ataúlfo, entre 414 e a morte dele no ano seguinte.

Foi regente de seu filho Valentiniano em Ravena durante vários anos até o rapaz ser proclamado maior de idade.
