Boessio offers a challenging interpretation of Beckett´s Ohio Impromptu in the light of the art concept of space and its relation to time. Reading Beckett´s Ohio Impromptu we are faced with the fragmentation of our times. Although Beckett´s work makes us uncomfortable by exposing us to postmodernity, Boessio´s reading offers us an alternative to comprehend fragmentation, silence, absence, shadows, contrasts, words, and the creation of fear as Beckett´s pictorial choices. She makes us reflect on what the postmodern audience is expected to know, what literary and non-literary background the audience needs to have in order to make sense of a postmodern play.
