Synopsis

"What happens when the cross is traded for a stage, and preaching gives way to performance?"

When spectacle replaces the altar and faith becomes merchandise, what remains of the true Gospel?

And more importantly: are we still willing to seek it out?

In Churches in Ruins: What Remains of Love?, historian Cláudio Marins leads the reader on a deep and courageous journey through the history of Christianity. From the fervent fire of the early church to the contemporary scene dominated by entertainment and prosperity theology, the work examines how the essence of the Christian faith was gradually obscured by power, greed, and the pursuit of relevance. More than a theological and historical critique, this book is a sincere lament, yet filled with hope. A book for those who believe that ruins are not the end.
