How does the distribution structure
at Literary Highways work?

Important: The sale of your book in bookstores and partner stores depends on meeting the technical requirements set by each partner. Bookstores or stores may require your work to have an ISBN, while others may require the eBook to be in ePub format. All books distributed through third parties may allow up to 20% of their content to be previewed by users.

Have you published your book with Literary Highways?
If you agree, it will be distributed to bookstores and marketplaces worldwide within 30 days!

Changes after publication
You can make changes to your book at any time. However, these changes will take up to 30 days to reflect in the distribution channels.

Purchased books
Books purchased by consumers in audio formats, subscriptions, or as rentals will remain in accordance with the rules established between the conventional stores and end customers.

Royalties
If your book (printed or as an eBook) is purchased on the Literary Highways website where it was published, you will receive exactly the royalties you set during the publication process.

20% of the price
If your book (printed or as an eBook) is purchased in a bookstore, marketplace, or on the international websites of Literary Highways, you will receive 20% of the price as royalties.

50% of the amount
If your work is sold in stores associated with Literary Highways and operating under a subscription or rental model, you will receive 50% of the total amount transferred to Literary Highways by them. This amount is based on the percentage of your work (in the case of eBooks) that is read or (in the case of audiobooks) heard, compared to all works consumed by subscribers of the store each month.

Custom prices
The price of your book remains the same in every country, regardless of the distribution channel. For sales abroad, we automatically adjust prices according to the local production costs. Of course, you will still receive 20% royalties on all international sales.

90 days
Sales through partner channels will be recorded and reported in the author’s report on the Literary Highways website within 90 days of the sales date.

How does delivery work in other countries?

Literary Highways maintains print partnerships in Brazil and Europe. Books ordered in Brazil are locally printed and shipped. For orders from EU countries, production and delivery are handled by European printing houses. Books ordered from outside these regions are shipped from locations that are logistically the most advantageous.

How do I receive payments for sales in other countries?

Your royalties from international sales are treated the same as your domestic earnings. They will be listed in your financial report, converted into your local currency, and transferred to your specified account according to the conditions agreed upon at registration. Does international distribution include printed books, eBooks, and audiobooks?

Yes. Literary Highways distributes all formats – printed books, eBooks, and in the future, audiobooks – internationally.

Do I need to do anything to get my book marketed?

During the publishing process, you can decide whether you want your book to be distributed internationally or not. If you choose distribution, no further action is required from your side: within 30 days, your book will be available in all connected bookstores and marketplaces worldwide. If you choose not to distribute, your book will only be available on Literary Highways' platforms.

Can I change the distribution status of my book?

Yes, at any time. You just need to go to "Your Account > Your Publications > Published Books", select your book, and then choose the desired option in the "Options" section.

Will the price of my book be the same in all countries?

No. Since production costs vary by country, the Club's system adjusts the sale price accordingly, taking into account graphic material costs, average book prices, and exchange rate differences. But don't worry: in regions where Literary Highways has its own facilities (such as Brazil and the European Union), your book will always be sold at local average prices.

Do my royalties vary depending on the sales channel?

Yes. There are three methods to calculate your royalties:
a) For sales made directly through Literary Highways' website in the country of publication, you will receive royalties exactly as set at the time of publication.
b) For sales in bookstores, marketplaces, or on Literary Highways' international websites, you will receive 20% of the final sale price of the book.
c) For sales on subscription platforms, rental platforms, or digital libraries (only valid for eBooks or audiobooks), you will receive 50% of the net amount that each channel transfers to Literary Highways.

What advantage do I have from international distribution?

Practically speaking: Your audience. There are millions of readers of your language around the world, and international distribution allows you to make your book available worldwide, expanding your audience and increasing your earnings.

How should my eBook be prepared for distribution?

Once the eBook format sale is approved, your book will be distributed to partner channels within the deadlines set by the contract. Each channel has different requirements, which we have listed below; your eBook must meet these requirements to be listed there.
