Synopsis

According to the Greek epic Iliad, Prince Paris of Troy kidnapped his lover Helen of Sparta, the most beautiful woman in the world, and King Menelaus, her husband, summoned the other Achaean cities, which waged war against the Trojans.

This conflict led to the meeting of many of the antiquity great heroes, such as Achilles, Hector or Ajax...

Homer's Iliad is considered one of the oldest written poems in the western world, dating from the 8th century BC, several centuries after the famous war.

There is no doubt that many of the attributes given to the characters, as well as the mystical interventions narrated in the work are totally unreal, but others such as the conflict itself, as well as some of the characters and places mentioned, could be true.

Some scholars suggest the possibility that the events recounted do not correspond to a single conflict, but rather compile and mitigate various historical facts from different eras.

This work seeks to uncover the true story of Troy and the hidden truth behind the verses of Homer's poems. We will see that, as is often the case, reality is more surprising than the fantasy emanating from the imagination of poets and writers.

Ruben Ygua

Historiador, romancista e ilustrador.
