I converted to Jesus in 1985, and I was a boy without a beard or even facial hair. But I immediately encountered a theological aberration. I converted in a Pentecostal church that didn't allow men to wear beards, which was fine, but as I sought knowledge of God's Word, it became so clear in the Scriptures that men of God wore beards that I soon realized that the church leadership knew nothing about the Bible. Prohibiting a man from wearing a beard is theologically as aberrant as worshipping God through images of saintly sculptures. These are two absurdities that no one with even a modicum of common sense, reading the Bible with a God-dependent spirit, could possibly fall for such a con (or pastor's) trick as these two theological positions.
