HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks and weakens the immune system. Without treatment, it spreads through the body and destroys the defenses so thoroughly that even the smallest infections or illnesses can become life-threatening. The final stage of this infection is called AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) – a condition where the body is almost entirely defenseless.
But – and this is important – AIDS is no longer an automatic death sentence. With strong willpower and modern medical support, it’s possible to survive even the final stage. But that fight comes at a cost.

He lost nearly all his hair. His teeth died. His bones became soft, his muscles vanished completely – he was bound to a wheelchair for months. Even basic movements were impossible. His motor skills failed. His memory was wiped out. It was a state where almost nothing resembled a normal life. Only through unshakable will to survive, through a daily battle and ongoing medical care, was he able to stand again. Literally.
But the scars remain. And not all of them are visible. The psychological impact of such a state runs deep. Fear. Trauma. The loss of control. That doesn’t just go away because the body eventually recovers. The soul takes much longer to heal.
