The text draws on the painter’s letters and on the examinations museums have carried out with X-ray, infrared, and microscopy, always separating what is known from what is reconstruction. A QR code in each chapter opens the Art&Art channel video in which the same canvas takes shape, stroke by stroke.
The works follow the painter’s life in five parts: the Netherlands, Paris, Arles, Saint-Rémy, and Auvers.
