Synopsis

The stories in this volume have been written for high intermediate students of English as a foreign language who are particularly interested in short stories due to their structure and brevity. Six short stories for six sleepless nights is the result of a collaborative task carried out by students of the f inal semester of a Portuguese-English Course at Unianchieta. At the beginning I noticed they were not confident they could accomplish the task as it was their first writing experience, but with motivation and peer collaboration they produced stories with a hint of emotion and suspense which cover a variety of themes and different personal styles of writing as well as providing enjoyable reading. I was very proud when I saw the result and the creative illustrations. Encouraging further writing is the ultimate goal!
