Who we are

Literary Highways is the largest platform for independent publications in Latin America, created to offer independent authors an affordable and efficient alternative for publishing and distributing their books. Founded with the goal of democratizing access to publishing, Literary Highways allows anyone, anywhere, to publish their book for free, making literature more inclusive and diverse.

Journey of Literary Highways

2009

Literary Highways is founded by partners Indio Brasileiro Guerra Neto, Ricardo Almeida, and Anderson de Andrade.

2012

Launch of www.profissionaisdolivro.com.br, the first marketplace for publishing services in Latin America.

2013

The first independent publishing platform to receive an investment. The investment was made by the SC Fund, managed by FirCapital BZPlan, focusing on investments in innovative companies.

2014

We won the award for the most innovative entrepreneurship in the world at the London Book Fair.

2015

Books from Literary Highways were officially selected for the collection of the Library of Congress.

2016

Agreement with SESI and several Brazilian universities for the publication and distribution of books in the academic field.

2018

Pioneering agreement for the distribution of independently published books with Estante Virtual, guaranteeing more visibility for all authors.

2019

Distribution agreements with Amazon, Livraria Cultura, Mercado Livre, Submarino, and Americanas, making Literary Highways the independent publishing platform with the largest distribution worldwide.

2020

International agreement enabling the sale and distribution of Literary Highways books worldwide!

2021

Launch of the new design studio for book covers, integrated into the publishing system; launch of Profissionais do Livro, offering complete publishing services for authors; introduction of the Editorial Compliance System.

2022

Integration with the ISBN system of the Câmara Brasileira do Livro, enabling books to be published with the code already assigned; integration with new models and stores expanding the distribution structure; beginning of the internationalization process, allowing sales worldwide!

2023

Opening of Literary Highways Portugal, the first branch in Europe; signing contracts enabling the worldwide distribution of print editions; winning the Skeelo-PublishNews Innovation Awards and the UN's WSA Portugal in the Culture & Heritage category; institutional presence in debates about the future of books at the book fairs in Frankfurt, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Cairo!

2024

Opening of Literary Highways Spain; launch of Aila, the first literary agent powered by artificial intelligence; winning the Conexões que Resplandecem award, Salon du Livre de Genève; World Summit Awards Global - Culture & Heritage; and Granter Innovation Award.
