Fruit of a study of military history begun in 1979, I present to the reader a consolidation of my Nine Pillars of the Art and the Science of War, which I consider the necessary foundations for decision—making at the political, strategic, and tactical levels, across land, maritime, aerial, and space domains. These concepts of mine are illustrated through quotations drawn from my books, where my historical simulations best exemplify them (for a complete list of them, I suggest consulting my Catalogs listed in the Chapter X. References). In each book, I follow a structure divided into three chapters: the first, which I call the “Historical Fact”, when I narrates the key characteristics of the war, campaign, or battle being studied; a second chapter, “Historical Analysis”, builds on the previous chapter, when I seek to understand what went right or wrong for both sides involved in the historical event and explore how the outcomes might have differed; then comes the main focus of my work, the chapter “Historical Simulation”, using the ideas raised in the previous chapter, I identify which board games in my collection contain scenarios suitable for testing the hypotheses I wish to examine.
