How the Pre-Sale Works

The Literary Highways pre-sale project allows authors to sell more copies of their book before printing. This way, an initial print run can be created at no cost to the author, allowing them to benefit from exclusive discounts and additional earnings.

The rules are:

  • Each author can offer their book for pre-sale a maximum of three times.
  • The pre-sale lasts 30 days; the entire printing process begins once the 30 days have passed.
  • During the pre-sale phase, the book cannot be modified or deleted.
  • During the pre-sale phase, the book will receive a discount of up to 10% (this may vary depending on the book's characteristics). The set royalties will not be affected by this discount and will be fully paid.
  • In addition to the royalties per sale, the author will receive the following bonuses, which are tiered based on the number of books sold through the Literary Highways website. Important: These bonuses apply only to sales made through the Literary Highways website and not through other channels.

The sales bonuses are:

  • Between 100 and 199 copies: Bonus of €0.10 per sold copy
  • Between 200 and 299 copies: Bonus of €0.20 per sold copy
  • Between 300 and 399 copies: Bonus of €0.30 per sold copy
  • Between 400 and 499 copies: Bonus of €0.40 per sold copy
  • From 500 copies onward: Bonus of €0.50 per sold copy

For example: If the book sells 300 copies, the author will receive an additional €90.00 on their account, in addition to the royalties set at the time of publication.

  • Is the pre-sale complete? You don’t need to do anything further! Your book’s page will automatically be converted into a regular sales page. We will continue to sell books on request (one by one), and you will be paid according to the sales.
Recommendations for a Successful Pre-Sale:
  • Advertise your pre-sale! If you don’t promote your pre-sale, you won’t get good results!
  • Use your social media. Go live, post reels, and share posts on all your channels. Now is the time to show yourself!
  • Make use of the countdown that appears on your book’s pre-sale page to your advantage!
  • The less time the reader has to decide, the more convincing the discount becomes!
How to List Your Book for Pre-Sale?
  • If you're releasing your book, simply choose the option “Release for Pre-Sale” at the end of the process.
  • If your book has already been released, log into your account and go to Your Publications > Published Books. Click on the action button and select the option “Release for Pre-Sale”.
